Phillip Island
Phillip Island is right off the coast of Melbourne. That makes it an easy place to get away on a weekend with family and friends. This is one of the best day trips in the area for those who love wildlife. Summerland Beach at sunset is not to be missed. This is when groups of younger penguins come to the shore. There’s also an area known as Nobbies outcrop where seals gather in front of viewers nearby. It’s only about an hour away from Brunswick. Bring the family and teach them to admire the local Australian wildlife in person.
Wilsons Promontory National Park
Wilsons Promontory is a good choice for those who are looking for a day trip with lots of things to do in a single location. Have a picnic at Squeaky Beach. The pristine sand makes a great place to break for lunch. Mount Oberon is an excellent place to have a view across the entire straight and admire this stretch of coast. There’s a birding area that lets you bring out the binoculars from Storage Pascoe Vale and get a good look at large flocks. The marine national park allow people to get an equally good look at the native sea life.
